Pursuant to Municipal Code 2.52.520, the salary resolution is adopted by the City Council establishing the legal current salary range from the salary schedule for each class of position. The salary resolution is adopted annually or periodically by the City Council upon review and recommendation of the City Administrator.
Additionally, California Public Employee’s Retirement Law (PERL) and Section 570.5 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 2 requires the City Pay Rates and Ranges document published on the City’s internet site meet required elements and be approved, it its entirety, by the City Council each time a modification is made.
The following are the salary schedules:
- At-Will (Unrepresented) – no modifications
- Management Unit, an affiliate of LiUNA – no modifications
- General Unit, an affiliate of LiUNA – no modifications
- Police – no modifications
- Ambulance – no changes
- Temporary/Hourly –hourly rates increased to the corresponding classification salary schedule (General, Management, At-Will) effective July 1, 2023.
Although the salary schedules were approved with the corresponding labor unit Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), as a Human Resources best practice and to comply with the regulations of PERL, the salary plan in its entirety will be submitted for Council approval each time a modification is made and/or on a fiscal basis.
