Title 17 (”Zoning”), Chapter 17.46 (“Telecommunications and Wireless Facilities”) of the City Municipal Code is currently under review by City staff to determine what amendments may be necessary to comply changes in the law. Following that review, a proposed amendment to the City’s code will be drafted for consideration by the City. In addition, telecommunication and wireless issues arise periodically in regard to the review of proposed installation of wireless facilities within the City as well as other telecommunications and wireless facilities issues.
The Telecom Law Firm has offices in Los Angeles and San Diego and concentrates its practice in the law regarding telecommunications and wireless issues.
It would be beneficial for the City to receive legal advice from the Telecom Law Firm on telecommunications and wireless issues.
Therefore, the recommendation is that the City Council PIE.
