Approve pruning of the Monterey cypress per the attached Arborist Report and as required by City Forester. |

| | | | | | | | | BACKGROUND/SUMMARY: |
Mike McWalters has applied for a permit for pruning one private Monterey cypress in the front set-back of Scenic Road 2 NE of Eleventh Avenue. The tree is in the Beach Overlay District. This District requires special oversite to avoid the perception that approval of the action is not in violation of Section 17.48.020 of the Municipal Code that states: "The City does not trim or remove trees in order to improve the view of any person, including the applicant, except to preserve a significant public view identified in the General Plan/Land Use Plan."
The Monterey cypress has a structural deflect that should be mitigated.
